BREC features 16 locations within the city limits, which allows for the cultivation of wildlife and a great appreciation of nature. Central gives home to two conservation areas: Frenchtown Road Conservation Area and Blackwater Conservation Area. A true gem of Central, Frenchtown Road Conservation Area is the largest conservation area offered by BREC at 495 acres, which includes two globally ranked "rare or imperiled" habitats. Additionally, Frenchtown Road Conservation Area has over 3 miles of trails and offers self guided hikes through the MyTourGuide App. Blackwater Conservation Area also offers many opportunities for outdoor recreation, including nature trails, hiking and fishing lakes.
Central BREC Parks also offers Comite River and Kerry Stamey Bike Trails, the multi-million dollar Central Sports Park and the amenity clad Jackson Community Park.
