This past Memorial Day, the City of Central honored its veterans with the Central Veterans Memorial on Sullivan Road. Built in commemoration of our American heroes, the Central Veterans Memorial serves as a constant reminder to our community of the sacrifices made for our great country.
Last Saturday night, the City of Central received the 2015 Community Achievement Award at the Louisiana Municipal Association Annual in Alexandria. The 2015 Community Achievement Award is given to a municipality that has exhibited outstanding community improvement in community development. Of the four population tiers, the City of Central competed in the highest tier population category of 25,001 and over. The winning entries are recognized by the following: LMA, the Louisiana Department of Economic Development, and the Louisiana Industrial Development Executives’ Association.
